This week’s episode of WWE NXT effectively serves as the go-home show for the Deadline PLE, which is set to take place on Saturday, December 9. It can be expected that a majority of the December 5 show will be focused on the build to the PLE. Here is all you need to know ahead of the December 5 edition of NXT.

WWE NXT Full Match Card:

  • Thea Hail vs. Fallon Henley vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Kiana James – Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Last Chance Fatal Four-Way Match
  • Carmelo Hayes vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Tyler Bate vs. Joe Coffey – Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Last Chance Fatal Four-Way Match
  • Alpha Academy (Gable, Otis & Maxxine Dupri) vs. Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah & Lash Legend) – Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match

Ilja Dragunov And Baron Corbin Have Final Confrontation

Ilja Dragunov won the NXT Championship at the No Mercy PLE in late September, and his reign is now at over 66 days. Baron Corbin has firmly planted himself as a thorn in Dragunov’s side, and at Deadline, it pays off as he finally gets the title shot he’s been asking for.

Ahead of their match-up at Deadline, Dragunov and Corbin are set to have their final confrontation in the ring on December 5. The bout between the pair could produce an intriguing blend of styles and make for an exciting match-up on Saturday.

Prior to that, they get the chance to inflict as much psychological warfare as possible with their confrontation. Although it can be expected that they will try not to get physical, that always remains a possibility with the two’s explosive personalities.

Iron Survivor Challenge Last Chances

With Deadline taking place this weekend, this week’s NXT offers up the last chances for qualification for the Iron Survivor Challenge matches. Over the last four weeks, eight superstars have qualified for the match-up, resulting in eight who have failed to qualify. On the December 5 edition of NXT, the eight who did not make it in the first time get the chance to book a last-minute ticket to Deadline.

Contesting for a chance in the men’s match will be Carmelo Hayes, Eddy Thorpe, Tyler Bate, and Joe Coffey. The women’s side will gain one addition from Thea Hail, Fallon Henley, Roxanne Perez or Kiana James.

Tensions Boil Over Between Alpha Academy And Meta-Four

Tensions have been rising between Alpha Academy and Meta-Four over recent weeks, with both sides having several segments opposite each other. On the first WWE NXT of December, the two sides will clash in a six-person mixed tag team match.

Representing Alpha Academy will be Gable, Otis, and Maxinne Dupri, whilst, on the other side, Meta-Four offers up Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, and Lash Legend. This could serve as the culmination of this long-running feud rivalry, as the team that comes out on top could truly consider themselves the superior one.
