Netflix is the world’s largest streaming service, bolstering a ridiculous 247 million paid subscribers. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), now part of TKO Holdings, is the largest sports entertainment franchise on the planet. RAW moving to Netflix in 2025 will change how wrestling and media are consumed.

RAW + How WWE Made TV History

“This deal is transformative… It marries the can’t-miss WWE product with Netflix’s extraordinary global reach and locks in significant and predictable economics for many years. Our partnership fundamentally alters and strengthens the media landscape, dramatically expands the reach of WWE, and brings weekly live appointment viewing to Netflix.”

-Mark Shapiro, COO of TKO

Starting in the Manhattan Center and running weekly for 30+ years, WWE Monday Night Raw is the king of the mountain. RAW accumulates over 17.5 million unique viewers over a single year. With over 1600 episodes in its catalog, it is also one of the longest-running TV shows.

This groundbreaking deal moves one of the highest-rated programs in the 18-49 advertising demographic to a streaming platform.

Netflix

“We believe Netflix, as one of the world’s leading entertainment brands, is the ideal long-term home for Raw’s live, loyal, and ever-growing fan base.”-Nick Khan, WWE President

Netflix was founded in 1997 by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings. Originally, it was founded in order to get around nasty late fees from Blockbuster. Netflix would go on to change how media is consumed. In 2007, Netflix transformed the media game again with the “instant queue” online streaming feature, allowing customers to watch movies easily from the couch via an Xbox or PlayStation.

In 2010, Netflix acquired the rights to the TV giant Breaking Bad. By the end of the decade, Netflix would be the largest streaming service in the world, spanning over 45 languages. Now, with exclusive programming like “Squid Game” and exclusive gaming rights, Netflix continues to be a top contender in the media game.

The streaming giant has had successes in the wrestling market in the past with shows like Rey Mysterio’s Against the Ropes and the highly successful docuseries The Wrestlers.
